Managing IEP Goals

Depending on the permissions your school/district has granted your account, you may also have the ability to manage IEP goals directly through the application. You will know if you have the permissions to manage IEP goals if you navigate to the “Manage Students” section and there is an option for “Manage IEP Goals”.

On the “Manage IEP Goals” landing page there are four different options.

The first option is labeled “Create”, and as the name implies allows you to create new IEP goals for any of the students that are in your caseload.  Selecting the “Create” option brings you to a one-page form for all of the goal information such as the start and end date and unique goal name. The goal name field is used by the app to handle multiple goals per subject area and allows you to submit a name that will be easy for you to remember when completing service and progress monitoring logs.  Once complete hit the “Create IEP Goal” button on the bottom of the screen.

The second option on the Manage IEP goals landing page is to “Amend”. This option is intended to be used for existing goals that need to be updated in some way. For example, if a student has met their goal within the first few months and the metrics need to be increased, then you can use this “Amend” feature to update those details for the goal. Once amendment changes are complete, hit the “Amend IEP Goal” button on the bottom of the screen to submit.

The third option on the Manage IEP goals landing page is to “Archive”. This archive button should be used extremely cautiously as it cannot be undone through the app. The archive button is intended to be used for students who have met their goals and services are no longer being tracked for those goals. Archiving the goal will hide it from all lists when tracking services and progress. You will still be able to view the data for archived goals through the app’s analytics features.

The last option on the Manage IEP goals landing page is for “Editing” existing IEP goals. The edit feature should only be used in cases for changing the unique goal name associated with a student’s goal or for fixing any potential typos in the IEP goal itself. Any other changes to the goal detail are determined an amendment and you will be brought to the amendment page. Once typos are fixed or the goal name has been updated hit the “Submit” button to submit all of your changes.
